G-Max Testing
G-Max testing is used to test the rate at which a player’s head/body would impact the playing surface. When a field has a higher g-max reading, the poorer the shock-attenuation of the surface. The results that we obtain are measured against an ASTM standard. ASTM requires that the readings from the g-max be less than 200g’ at every test point.The Synthetic Turf Council recommends a overall GMAX of less than 165. Our customers get a yearly g-max test to provide data showing the surface is safe and performing like it should.
